Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to the Plico Battery Win Back Promotion 2026.
By participating in the Promotion, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Definitions
1.1 Eligible Contract means a binding contract, a Virtual Power Plant Services Agreement with the Promoter for the purchase and installation of a Qualifying Battery System, signed during the Promotion Period.
1.2 Eligible Entrant means a person who satisfies all eligibility requirements in clause 3.
1.3 Promoter, Plico, us, our or we means Starling Energy Group Pty Ltd trading as Plico Energy, ABN 47 617 042 592, Level 2, 46 Edward St, Osborne Park, WA 6017.
1.4 Promotion means the Battery Win Back Promotion 2026 conducted under these Terms and Conditions.
1.5 Promotion Period means the period commencing at 12:01 am AWST on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and ending at 11:59 pm AWST on Saturday, 31 October 2026.
1.6 Qualifying Battery System means one of Plico’s battery systems (Add a Solar Battery to Your System | Perth and WA | Plico – a battery only, or solar and battery system), supplied and installed by Plico at an eligible residential property. A Plico solar + battery system is eligible, however only the battery and inverter component is eligible for the Win Back Amount. A battery expansion system is not a qualifying battery system.
1.7 Successful Installation means the Qualifying Battery System has been fully installed, commissioned and is operational at the entrant’s designated property in accordance with Plico’s applicable policies, procedures and installation requirements.
1.8 Winner means the Eligible Entrant selected in the prize draw in accordance with clause 6.
1.9 Win Back Amount is $10,000 including GST.
1.10 You or your means a person who participates in the Promotion.
1.11 Plico’s service area means the defined postcodes by Plico, updated from time to time, within the South West Interconnected System (SWIS)/Western Power network.
2. Promotion Period
2.1 The Promotion opens and closes during the Promotion Period specified in clause 1.5.
2.2 All times and dates in these Terms and Conditions refer to Australian Western Standard Time unless otherwise stated.
2.3 Contracts signed before the Promotion opens or after the Promotion closes are not eligible.
2.4 The Promoter may extend the Promotion Period where permitted by law. Any extension will be published on the Plico website and will not invalidate an entry already made.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over who:
a. reside in Western Australia and have a property in Plico’s service area;
b. own, or have the legal authority to approve works at, the property where the Qualifying Battery System will be installed;
c. enter into an Eligible Contract during the Promotion Period;
d. meet Plico’s applicable customer, property, technical, credit and approval requirements;
e. obtain all required electricity retailer, network service provider and other relevant approvals;
f. proceed to a Successful Installation by 31 March 2027;
g. have not cancelled or terminated the Eligible Contract before the prize is awarded;
h. are an individual and are not a company;
i. otherwise comply with these Terms and Conditions.
3.2 Employees, officers and contractors of the Promoter, its related entities and agencies directly associated with the Promotion, and members of their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
3.3 Existing Plico members are eligible only when purchasing a new Qualifying Battery System.
3.4 Customers with an existing active quotation or sales opportunity before the Promotion opens are eligible if they sign an Eligible Contract by 31 October 2026.
3.5 A person is not required to pay any amount above the ordinary advertised or agreed price of the Qualifying Battery System because of the opportunity to participate in the Promotion.
3.6 Entry is limited to one entry per Eligible Contract and one entry per household.
3.7 If more than one person is named on an Eligible Contract, the entry will be recorded in the name of the primary customer identified in Plico’s records.
3.8 The Promoter may request information reasonably required to verify an entrant’s identity, age, residence, property ownership, contract status or eligibility. An entrant who does not provide the requested information may be declared ineligible.
3.9 The Promotion can be used in addition to other Plico Promotions, discounts and rebates.
4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter, an Eligible Entrant must sign an Eligible Contract during the Promotion Period.
4.2 Entry is automatic. No separate competition entry form or additional fee is required.
4.3 Each eligible signed contract constitutes one entry, subject to the entry limits in clause 3.6.
4.4 An enquiry, quote request, site assessment, proposal, deposit or unsigned contract does not by itself constitute an entry.
4.5 A contract that is cancelled, rescinded, terminated or otherwise does not proceed to a Successful Installation will not constitute a valid entry.
4.6 The Promoter is not responsible for an entry that is not recorded because of incorrect customer details, an incomplete contract, a failed electronic submission, a technical fault or circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
5. Prize
5.1 There is one prize available.
5.2 The prize is $10,000 including GST.
5.3 The prize is only payable to the customer, once the eligible system has been installed at the customer’s property by Plico.
5.4 The maximum total prize pool is $10,000 including GST.
5.5 The retail price of the average Plico system sold is around $9,600 including GST.
5.6 If the Winner has already paid the Eligible Contract in full, the prize will be paid by electronic funds transfer to an Australian bank account held in the Winner’s name.
5.7 If the Winner has financed the Qualifying Battery System with Plico Finance, the prize will be provided as a lump sum payment or credited to the Winner’s Plico account, with the election being made by the Promoter.
5.8 The prize does not include any tax liability, financial advice or costs not expressly included in these Terms and Conditions.
5.9 The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be assigned to another person, except where required by law.
5.10 Entrants should obtain their own financial and taxation advice concerning the prize.
6. Prize Draw
6.1 The prize draw will take place at 10:00am AWST on Monday 2 November 2026 electronically using a random-draw system.
6.2 The draw will be conducted randomly from all valid entries recorded at the close of the Promotion.
6.3 The first valid entry randomly selected will be the provisional Winner, subject to verification of eligibility.
6.4 Entrants have an approximate 1 in 200 to 1 in 350 chances of winning the competition, depending on the number of Eligible Contracts signed by Eligible Entrants during the Promotion.
6.5 The Winner is determined by chance. The value of the Winner’s contract, battery size, payment method, postcode, lead source, previous relationship with Plico or timing of entry will not improve the entrant’s chance of winning.
6.6 The Promoter’s decision concerning the conduct of the draw and verification of eligibility is final, subject to applicable law.
7. Winner Notification and Claim
7.1 The provisional Winner will be contacted by telephone and email using the contact details recorded in the Eligible Contract within two business days after the draw.
7.2 The provisional Winner’s first name, surname initial and suburb will be published on the Plico website Battery Win Back Promotion webpage by the 5th of November 2026, subject to applicable law.
7.3 To claim the prize, the provisional Winner must:
a. respond to the Promoter within 14 days after notification;
b. provide reasonable evidence of identity and eligibility;
c. provide valid payment details where required; and
d. continue to satisfy these Terms and Conditions.
7.4 The Win Back Amount will be paid or applied within 28 days after:
a. the Winner’s eligibility has been verified;
b. the Qualifying Battery System has achieved Successful Installation; and
c. any applicable cooling-off, cancellation or contract-settlement requirements have expired.
7.5 No interest is payable on the prize.
8. Unclaimed Prize and Redraw
8.1 If the provisional Winner:
a. cannot be contacted;
b. does not claim the prize within the required period;
c. fails to provide the information required to verify eligibility;
d. is found not to be an Eligible Entrant;
e. cancels or terminates the Eligible Contract before the prize is awarded; or
f. does not proceed to a Successful Installation
the provisional Winner will forfeit the prize.
8.2 If required, an unclaimed-prize draw will take place at 10:30am AWST on Friday 20 November 2026 using the same random method as the original draw.
8.3 The replacement Winner will be contacted within two business days after the unclaimed-prize draw.
8.4 A forfeiting entrant will not be entitled to compensation.
9. Contracts, Approvals and Installation
9.1 Participation in the Promotion does not guarantee that an entrant or property will be approved for a Plico system, finance, government rebate, network connection, electricity retailer approval or Successful Installation.
9.2 The Eligible Contract and any applicable product, installation, finance, rebate and VPP terms continue to apply separately from these Terms and Conditions.
9.3 An entrant should decide whether to purchase a Qualifying Battery System based on its suitability, price and contractual terms, and not on reliance on winning the prize.
9.4 If installation cannot proceed because the property, existing solar system, electrical infrastructure or entrant does not satisfy Plico’s applicable requirements, the entry will be invalid, subject to the entrant’s rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
9.5 Delays outside the entrant’s reasonable control may be considered by the Promoter acting reasonably, provided the Eligible Contract remains in force and all other eligibility criteria are satisfied.
10. Other Offers and Rebates
10.1 The Promotion may be used in conjunction with other Plico promotions, referral rewards, partner offers or discounts.
10.2 Eligibility for government rebates, loans or incentives is determined under the applicable government program and is not guaranteed by entry into this Promotion.
11. Privacy and Publicity
11.1 The Promoter will collect and use entrants’ personal information to administer the Promotion, verify eligibility, conduct the draw, contact the Winner, award the prize and comply with applicable legal requirements.
11.2 Personal information may be disclosed to the Promoter’s related entities, contractors, professional advisers, service providers, promotion administrators and relevant regulatory authorities where reasonably necessary to conduct the Promotion.
11.3 Personal information will otherwise be managed in accordance with Plico’s Privacy Policy.
11.4 Marketing consent is separate from entry into the Promotion. Entrants may manage their marketing preferences in accordance with applicable law and Plico’s Privacy Policy without invalidating an otherwise valid entry.
11.5 Subject to the Winner’s consent and applicable law, the Promoter may invite the Winner to participate in reasonable promotional activity. Refusal to participate in optional publicity will not invalidate the prize.
11.6 The Promoter may publish information about the Winner where required by law or these Terms and Conditions.
12. Invalid Entries and Conduct
12.1 The Promoter may declare an entry invalid if the entrant:
a. provides false, incomplete, misleading or fraudulent information;
b. tampers with or attempts to manipulate the entry or draw process;
c. breaches these Terms and Conditions; or
d. is otherwise ineligible.
12.2 The Promoter may recover a prize that has been awarded as a result of fraud, dishonesty or material misrepresentation.
12.3 Any decision to invalidate an entry will be made reasonably and in accordance with applicable law.
13. Changes, Suspension or Cancellation
13.1 If the Promotion cannot be conducted as planned because of fraud, technical failure, unlawful interference or another event outside the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may modify, suspend or cancel the Promotion to the extent permitted by law.
13.2 Any material change will be published on the Plico website and, where required, notified to entrants and the relevant regulatory authority.
13.3 No amendment will retrospectively remove a valid entrant’s accrued right to participate, except where required by law or necessary to protect the integrity of the Promotion.
14. Liability
14.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
14.2 To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for loss arising from:
a. incorrect or outdated contact details supplied by an entrant;
b. a technical, telecommunications or data failure outside the Promoter’s reasonable control;
c. unauthorised access to or interference with the Promotion;
d. a delay caused by a third-party electricity retailer, network operator, finance provider, government authority, product supplier or installer; or
e. tax or financial consequences arising from receipt of the prize.
14.3 The Promoter is not liable for any consequential loss arising from participation in the Promotion, subject only to the non-excludable Australian Consumer Law rights already preserved in clause 14.1.
15. General
15.1 These Terms and Conditions are available free of charge on the Plico website throughout the Promotion Period.
15.2 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed to the extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
15.3 A failure by the Promoter to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
15.4 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia and any courts competent to hear appeals from those courts.
