Solar rebates on the Central Coast
The great news is, solar rebates or STCs are available on the Central Coast. The amount you get rebated will depend on exactly where you live, as well as the size of your solar system. But don’t worry, Plico will calculate your STC for you when you sign up, and the rebate will be factored into your low weekly instalment.
One thing to bear in mind is that solar rebates can go up and down depending on government policy. Currently in Australia, the solar rebate is due to end by 2030, with the rebate decreasing each year. This means the sooner you sign up for solar on the Central Coast, the more money you’ll save.
Battery rebates on the Central Coast
From 1 July 2025, Central Coast households can access a 30% discount on solar batteries through the National Battery Rebate scheme.
Battery systems must be Virtual Power Plant (VPP) ready to access the National rebate. Plico also offers a $1,500 VPP discount when you sign up for our VPP. As an independent VPP provider, Plico is focused on delivering returns for its members and has proven experience in doing so.

What size solar system do I need?
At Plico we assess our customers’ homes, energy use and solar needs before recommending what size solar system is available. We also factor in your roof orientation, how much space you have and how much sunlight you’re exposed to (the good news for solar panels on the Central Coast is that’s usually a lot!).
We have prepared a guideline to give you some indication of what size solar system might suit your needs. However, we find that customers are taking advantage of the rebates on offer and opting for a larger battery to future-proof their homes.
