$15,000 interest-free loans available
The NSW Government’s new Home Energy Saver program provides loans of up to $15,000 for energy saving upgrades for eligible households. The loans can be paid back over 10 years, which means households can save from Day One without the need for big upfront costs. The loans are only available to households with a combined annual income of up to $210,000 a year. The loans are a gamechanger for homes that qualify, but for those that don't there are still some fantastic finance options available like Plico Finance.
What is the National Battery Rebate?
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program announced aims to make solar batteries more affordable for Aussie households.
The $2.3 billion program is expected to reduce the cost of a typical installed battery by up to 30 per cent*. The program was rolled out on 1 July 2025, with over one million new batteries expected by 2030.
Households are expected to save around $4,000* on a typical household solar battery with the rebate. The rebate value reduces every six months.
What incentives are available for VPPs?
Plico offers a $1,500 discount when you join our Virtual Power Plant with a new Plico solar + battery or battery only system. Once you're in, you can start earning 50c/kWh for your energy when you join an eligible VPP electricity plan.
Virtual Power Plants can reduce energy demand on the grid to help lower the cost of electricity and frequency of power outages in NSW.

What solar rebates are available in NSW?
The solar rebates available in New South Wales vary based on factors such as the size of the system you install and where you live. This impacts the number of STCs you’re eligible for (and therefore the total amount). Read this article on how solar rebates work in NSW to find out exactly how STCs are calculated. If you’re not up to speed on STCs then don’t worry – all STCs are handled by Plico and the credit is factored into your low weekly instalment or upfront payment. All you have to do is, on the day of installation, sign your STCs over to the local installer and we will do everything else from there.
In Australia, the government solar rebate is set to conclude by 2030, after which rebates will be unavailable.

The amount of savings is based on electricity consumption only, the daily supply charge has not been factored in. The amount of savings does not factor in the costs of the system, regardless of whether it's paid upfront or on a credit contract. The amount of the annual bill savings factors in feed in tariff amounts for any kilowatt-hours exported back to the grid, it does not factor in any export limiting of the inverter. For monthly bills between $100 and $130 amounts, the annual savings amount is greater than the annual bill amount, due to feed in tariff credits for amounts exported back to the grid.
