Yes. Many AlphaESS systems are hybrid all-in-one units with a built-in inverter, which converts stored and solar DC energy into AC power for your home. This not only expedites installation but also improves efficiency, especially when paired with solar arrays.

AlphaESS also has AC-coupled inverters that can be retrofitted to an existing solar setup (note it may have to comply with state regulations).   

Yes. AlphaESS can be retrofitted to most existing solar setups, particularly when paired with an AC-coupled configuration (state regulations may apply). This lets you add storage without replacing your current solar inverter or panels, making it a flexible upgrade for homes with established solar systems.  

Many AlphaESS systems are VPP-ready and can participate in Virtual Power Plant programs where available. These programs let your stored energy support grid stability and may offer financial benefits for exporting surplus power during peak demand.  

Plico's VPP includes thousands of AlphaESS battery systems, which generate VPP Rewards for Plico memebrs. 

AlphaESS warranties vary by model but typically include a product warranty and a battery performance warranty, of up to 10 years. Specific terms depend on the system and installation.  

Plico provides a 10-year warranty and ongoing support with every AlphaESS system. Should you have any issues in that time, we'll work directly with AlphaESS on your behalf to have system issues rectified as soon as possible. 

Eligibility for state or federal rebates depends on current incentives in your area and whether the system meets local requirements. AlphaESS has several battery models approved for the National Battery Rebate which are listed on the Clean Energy Council approved product list. NSW homeowners can also apply for the $15,000 no-interest Home Energy Saver Loan for an AlphaESS battery.
