What direction is best for solar to face?
North-facing solar panels will get the most sun year-round, which is great news for the sun-drenched South West of WA. However, if you have an east-west roof alignment, you can still harness most of the sun’s energy from dawn to dusk. There are a few other factors to consider, though, such as making sure that your panels aren’t shaded or blocked by trees or other buildings. When it comes to panel positioning, it’s also worth checking the steepness of the roof or slope where the panels will be placed to ensure your solar takes maximum advantage of the South West sun.
How much does a solar system cost?
At Plico, we understand that the cost of heating and cooling your house has gone through the roof. While a solar system is a great investment, at Plico we have different payment options available to make it worthwhile to make the switch to solar.
We offer a low weekly instalment, with no big upfront installation costs. And because we’re genuinely committed to saving you money, we’ll come out and inspect your home free of charge to check and make sure that your place is suitable for one of our solar systems. If we don’t believe our system is going to save you money, we’ll say so.
What size solar system do I need?
It’s hard for us to answer this without taking a look at your home and energy bills, which is why we commit to a free site visit. We’ll size up your set-up, check out your location and surroundings and find out about your energy needs, then recommend what size solar system might suit your needs.

The amount of savings is based on electricity consumption only, the daily supply charge has not been factored in. The amount of savings does not factor in the costs of the system, regardless of whether it's paid upfront or on a credit contract. The amount of the annual bill savings factors in feed in tariff amounts for any kilowatt-hours exported back to the grid, it does not factor in any export limiting of the inverter. For monthly bills between $100 and $130 amounts, the annual savings amount is greater than the annual bill amount, due to feed in tariff credits for amounts exported back to the grid.

Bunbury has around eight hours of sunshine on average every day, which makes it the perfect place for a solar battery system. While it might not have quite as much sunlight as Perth, the South West is in the Southern Sub Tropics, which means its hot, dry climate is perfect for solar power generation.
