Our Solar Panels
Discover Jinko Solar Panels
Solar panels are a long-term investment, so it’s important to choose a quality product that will perform for years to come. You also want to ensure your panels can withstand tough Australian conditions. At Plico, we select the panels we know will deliver. That’s why we use Jinko panels in our solar + battery installations.
High performance
Jinko panels are a proven, high-performance choice for residential solar systems, combining advanced N-type TOPCon cell technology with strong real-world output, long-term reliability and excellent value. Their Tiger Neo range is designed to convert more sunlight into usable energy, with higher module efficiency, improved low-light performance and lower power loss in hot conditions compared with older P-type panel technologies.
Built for tough Aussie conditions
For Australian homes, temperature performance matters. Roof temperatures can climb very quickly in summer, and, contrary to what many homeowners believe, every degree of heat can reduce a panel’s output. Jinko’s N-type panels are engineered with a low temperature coefficient, helping them maintain stronger generation when conditions are hot. They also have lower light-induced degradation and a low annual degradation rate, which means they are built to keep producing more energy over the life of the system.
Jinko’s panel design also supports better reliability in everyday operating conditions. Features such as multi-busbar cell architecture, anti-PID performance, robust mechanical load ratings and resistance to salt mist and ammonia help protect output and durability over time. This makes them well suited to a wide range of homes, from metro rooftops to coastal and regional locations.
Our panel of choice
Plico uses Jinko panels because they strike the right balance between performance, reliability, warranty confidence and value. They give customers access to high-efficiency solar tech from one of the world’s largest solar manufacturers, while helping Plico design systems that maximise usable roof space, support strong energy yields and deliver dependable long-term savings.
Here’s why we choose Jinko panels (in a nutshell):
- High-efficiency N-type TOPCon technology for stronger energy conversion.
- Low temperature coefficient to support better performance in hot Australian conditions.
- Low degradation for reliable long-term output.
- Strong durability credentials for wind, load, salt mist and ammonia resistance.
- Backed by long performance warranties and global manufacturing scale.
- A smart fit for Plico systems where quality, value and long-term customer outcomes all matter.
Solar panel arrays
Find out the Aussie average
Traditionally, the most common solar panel array size was 6.6 kW, which is around 14 solar panels. As more people start to see the benefits of solar in reducing their power bills, and government incentives to install solar + battery, the average panel array grew to10.2 kW in 2025.
With bigger batteries being installed, solar panel arrays are also growing to suit.

Jinko solar panels
The Jinko panels used in Plico systems are 475 watts. That means that an average solar panel array of 6.65 kW is 14 panels (6.65/0.475). From here, we can customise a solar panel array that fits your roof specs and also your home’s energy needs. If you’re adding a battery to your solar system (wise choice!), you’ll want to ensure your panel array and your battery size are well matched, along with your inverter which is the beating heart of any solar + battery system. If you have a large battery paired with a small inverter and solar setup, you’re unlikely to fill the battery even on a sunny day. If you have a decent solar array but a small battery, you’re likely to charge it early in the day and be exporting your excess energy to the grid.
Every home is different, that’s why we provide a customised quote suited to your home and energy needs.

What solar rebates are available in NSW?
The solar rebates in New South Wales vary based on factors such as the size of the system you install and where you live. This impacts the number of STCs you’re eligible for (and therefore the total amount). If you’re not up to speed on STCs then don’t worry – all STCs are handled by Plico and the credit is factored into your quoted price. All you have to do is, on the day of installation, sign your STCs off with your installer and we will do everything else from there.
In Australia, the government solar rebate is set to conclude by 2030, after which rebates will be unavailable.

Solar Panel FAQs
-
How many solar panels do I need?
The number of panels you need depends on your household energy use, roof space, battery size and energy goals. As a guide, Plico uses 475 W Jinko panels, so a 6.65 kW solar array is around 14 panels. We customise every quote to suit your roof and how your home uses power.
-
Do I need a battery with my solar panels?
Yes, if you want to get more value from the energy your panels produce. Solar panels generate most of their power during the day, while many homes use more energy in the evening and overnight. A battery stores excess solar so you can use more of your own power when you need it most.
-
Will solar panels work on cloudy days?
Yes. Solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy days, although output is usually lower than on bright, sunny days. High-quality panels can still capture available light, and when paired with a battery, your system can help make better use of the solar energy generated throughout the day.
-
Does my roof need to face north?
North-facing panels are ideal in Australia, but they are not the only option. East- and west-facing panels can also perform well, especially when your system is designed around your household usage patterns. Plico will assess your roof layout, shading and available space and design system tailored to your site and energy needs.

How much energy do you use? Pick the option closest to your average monthly electricity bill, or choose Actual to enter your own figure.
The amount of savings is based on electricity consumption only, the daily supply charge has not been factored in. The amount of savings does not factor in the costs of the system, regardless of whether it's paid upfront or on a credit contract. The amount of the annual bill savings factors in feed in tariff amounts for any kilowatt-hours exported back to the grid, it does not factor in any export limiting of the inverter. For monthly bills between $100 and $130 amounts, the annual savings amount is greater than the annual bill amount, due to feed in tariff credits for amounts exported back to the grid.
