As WA’s trusted, local solar and solar + battery provider, Plico’s goal is to make solar + battery accessible and affordable for all. Which means that, as well as our low weekly instalment model, we keep you up to date with all the solar savings out there.
What is the Switch Your Thinking program?
The Switch Your Thinking (SYT) program is a local government scheme designed to encourage residents and small businesses to make small changes to the way they live and work to be more sustainable.
It works by offering simple tips, events, and discounts to help people save energy, reduce waste, and make choices that are better for the planet. They work with the community to create a healthier environment for today and for the future.

Who is eligible for the scheme?
Switch Your Thinking is currently based in Western Australia. It began in 2002, as a joint initiative between the City of Armadale, City of Gosnells, and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, but it has now spread with its Energy Efficiency Pilot Program (EEPP) running across 55 local government areas.
Which councils are participating?
If you want to find out if your council is participating, check the Switch Your Thinking website or your local council's environment/sustainability page for a list of participating councils.
What incentives are available?
SYT offers discounts through partnerships with local businesses in the participating local councils. While the discounts vary depending on location, some examples are electric vehicle chargers, energy-efficient lighting (LEDs) insulation, water-saving devices, bikes and e-bikes, and solar battery and storage systems.

The amount of savings is based on electricity consumption only, the daily supply charge has not been factored in. The amount of savings does not factor in the costs of the system, regardless of whether it's paid upfront or on a credit contract. The amount of the annual bill savings factors in feed in tariff amounts for any kilowatt-hours exported back to the grid, it does not factor in any export limiting of the inverter. For monthly bills between $100 and $130 amounts, the annual savings amount is greater than the annual bill amount, due to feed in tariff credits for amounts exported back to the grid.
