Our referral rewards are available to eligible members only. If you have received an email or SMS from us with information about the referral program, then consider yourself eligible! If you haven’t received an invitation to the referral program, you can still spread the word to family and friends and we’ll give them a welcome reward when they sign up.

How to Refer
It’s easy to refer someone to Plico. Here are your two options:
Referral Link
Share your unique referral link with friends and family via email, social media, or any preferred method. You can contact us for your link or refer to one of our referral emails for your link.
Your link looks something like this: https://www.plicoenergy.com.au/referral?referrer_id=NUMBER. The “NUMBER” part of the link, will include your unique referral code. When someone clicks on the link they are taken to a webpage where they enter their details for a Plico team member to call them back. When this happens, we have a digital record of the referral that we link to your name in our database. This ensures that if the person becomes a Plico member and has a system installed, they will receive their referral reward. Hooray!
Simply copy and paste your link into your favourite communication channel and let your friends and the Plico team do the rest.
During the sales process
Your friends and family can simply mention your name when they call or email us to start their solar journey. Easy!

If you’re at a dinner party, BBQ or happen to mention Plico in any conversation, the person you are speaking to can contact us the traditional way – by phone. When they call up, they’ll just need to mention that you referred them, and we will ensure the referral is in the system. It’s that easy!
If you’re more technically minded, you can download a QR code to your phone with your unique link. The person you’re speaking with can scan the QR code and they’ll be taken to the referral webpage (with your unique code).
A QR code is like a barcode that can be read by smartphone cameras. When you scan a QR code, you can click on a link to more information.
You can easily generate a QR code for free online on your smartphone or PC using qr-code-generator.com. We recommend you do this on your smartphone so you can easily save the image, ready to share with family and friends.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Go to QR Code Generator | Create Your Free QR Codes (qr-code-generator.com)
Step 2: Enter your website or text - copy and paste your referral link (from one of the emails we have sent you). Select Generate QR code.
Step 3: Download JPG. A pop up will appear with a Free Sign up. You don’t need to sign up, your QR code is downloading in the background. If using your smartphone, you will be asked Do you want to download “frame.png”? with the options to view or download. Select view and then hold your finger on the image and save to photos.
Step 4: Your QR code will appear in your downloads folders if you’re using your PC. From here you can open and save to wherever you like, or send it to yourself as an email, or in Messenger etc, so you can save to your phone. If you are using your phone, you can check your QR code is saved correctly in Photos.
Step 5: To make it easier to find your QR code, add it as a favourite in your Photos folder on your phone by selecting the love heart in the bottom panel, or select Send (square with arrow pointing up) then Add to Album and select an Album.
Step 6: From your smartphone, you can easily present your QR code to your friends, family, business acquaintances, neighbours (whoever you know!) for them to scan with their smartphone camera. They simply click on the link and are taken straight to your referral webpage where they fill in their details. Then they’re on their way to becoming a proud Plico member!
You can download and print referral flyers to hand out to your neighbours, friends, family and colleagues. You have two options, depending on how much time and creativity you have:
- Download and print the flyer (pdf version) as is, with no editing. This flyer includes a generic link to the Plico website. Your referees will need to mention your name when they receive a call from our friendly team. You can always choose to write your link or name out neatly underneath. Note there are 3 flyers per A4 page that will need to be cut out.
- Edit the flyer (png version) by including your QR code or unique link where the existing QR code is. Obviously, this option takes a little more work, so read the section above for information on layering images.

You can download and print our bright A4 Referral Poster to pin up wherever you like! Think notice boards, your own small business, car window etc.
You have two options with the poster:
- Download and print the poster (pdf version) as is, with no editing. The poster includes a generic link to the Plico website. Your referees will need to mention your name when they receive a call from our friendly team. You can always choose to write your link or name out neatly underneath.
- Edit the poster (choose the png version) by including your QR code or unique link where the existing QR code is. Obviously, this option takes a little more work, so read on to find out how to do this.
How to edit the Referral Poster:
Step 1: Open your image editing software. This could be Photoshop or a free online program like Canva or iPiccy.com.
Step 2: Open the Referral Poster (png version).
Step 3: Depending on the program you are using, add your QR code image and size it to cover the existing QR code on the poster. In Photoshop, iPiccy and other programs, you can use the layer feature to do this. In Canva, simply open the poster and then add the QR code over the top.
Step 4: Print!

Each slide focusses on a different aspect of Plico and the benefits it provides to members. You can provide your own personal experience and insights throughout the presentation.
Just remember that as a member you don’t represent the Plico business, so feel free to handball to us for anything you’re not 100% across.

This toolkit provides all the essentials to help you on your way to becoming a Super Referrer. But if you want to get there even faster, you could hit your 10 referrals all in one night! Introducing the Plico Party! We’re not going to be too prescriptive on what a Plico Party entails – we'll leave that up to you. We’re simply providing some ideas, some food for thought, some seeds to be sown. You’re the party expert here. You know your friends and you know how to network. Use this toolkit to encourage everyone to join the Plico Movement (and ensure they have major FOMO that they’re not!)
Some ideas for throwing a Plico Party:
- Think Tupperware, Thermomix, Enjo – invite all your friends over for some food and drinks while you tell them all about your Plico system. Use the Presentation and ensure everyone has your unique link and a flyer or two. They can sign up there and then to receive a call back from our friendly team.
- Weave your personal experience into the conversation. This could be how much your bills were before Plico, how the blackout protection gives you an edge over your neighbours (being the only house in the street with the lights on and fridge doing its thing) or how you feel good about using clean energy. You know your audience and what’s important to them. Your personal story is more powerful than any advertising they may see.
- A party is an investment – when you’re catering for your Plico party you should see it as such. A little baking or cocktail making goes a long way!
- Show everyone your system. Visuals are really powerful so take your friends to the good-looking inverter you have in the garage. Point out that there are no messy wires and show how it’s all housed in one safe compartment. Point out the panels on your roof and the quality workmanship. Let them see the infrastructure so they can be more familiar with it. It’s worth mentioning that we use two types of systems; Redback and Alpha, so if they sign up their system might look a little different (but importantly, it does the same thing!).
- Show everyone the app. Whether you have a Redback system or an Alpha ESS, bring up the app on your phone and explain what is happening in real time. Show them how much renewable energy you have self-produced. Explain how much capacity there is in the battery and how the system will operate once the sun goes down or comes back up.
- Get your bills out! Your power bill is a, excuse the pun, powerful tool to show the cost savings of a Plico system. Show your guests the impact of your solar + battery system by showcasing your before and after power bill, or simply the graph in your bill that shows the change from this time last year. Everyone wants to save money on their power bill. Even if you are just breaking even after your Plico payment, you can explain how you prefer to invest in your clean energy system rather than paying that same money to Synergy. It’s a bit like paying off a mortgage for the same price as renting. Plus, after 10 years all the savings go straight into your pocket!
- Be a gatecrasher! But we’re talking invite-only here. If you’re at a birthday party, Tupperware party, mother’s group get together, school BBQ – spark a conversation about Plico. You could ask permission to share the presentation to a group or to hand out some flyers. Make the most of a captured audience, even if it means shamelessly sharing your referral link. You’ll be surprised how many new members you might get signing up.
- Solar Powered Party! Throw a party under this theme to highlight how your home runs on solar power at night. You don’t have to do any more than choosing this theme, it will do all the work for you! It will no doubt spark many conversations about solar that you can casually jump into.
- Pints and Plico. This one is a more laid-back affair – think a small get together with mates at the local pub. The pints are on you which means you get the floor for five minutes to brag about your Plico system. You might want to talk about the technology, show off your app and tell your friends how much money you are saving. Be prepared for lots of questions, and that second round of drinks! If pints aren’t your thing, then perhaps Plico and pinot?!
- Plico morning tea. We all love a good morning tea in the workplace. Why not tack on a Plico theme and let all your colleagues or clients know about the benefits of solar + battery. You could even make Plico-blue or sun-yellow cupcakes. Show everyone the app and talk about what is happening with your system back home. And don't forget to slip them all your referral link!
- Send in a photo. If you send us a photo of your Plico Party, we’ll send you out some goodies as our way of saying thank you (on top of our generous referral rewards!).
- Have fun! We’re all about the good vibes at Plico so make sure you have loads of fun hosting your very own Plico Party!
