Support

As a Plico member you are part of a community and there are a number of ways you can get support for your system.

  1. Access to a fantastic app to monitor your energy creation and use.  It’s addictive!
  2. Your system is monitored via cloud technology from our operations centers. If something goes wrong, we will let you know as soon as we do. If a part needs repair or replacement under the warranty, this is taken care of for you.
  3. Our “members only” Facebook group.  Once your system is installed, you’ll be sent a link to join our members-only Facebook group.  This is a great place to have your general questions answered regarding your system.
  4. Member events – we’ll hold a variety of members events throughout the year where you can meet other members and learn more about your system. It’s a great place to pick up hints and tips on maximizing your Plico system.

SERVICE and MAINTENANCE

Your agreement with Plico Energy is a Virtual Power Plant Service Agreement (VPPSA) that is designed to ensure the system works for you and the grid. That means – we are equally interested in ensuring that your system is working as it should. As part of the Plico contract, we will provide service and maintenance support for your system. Op top of this, our service provider, Starling Energy, has a series of performance KPI’s the report on to the Plico Energy Shareholders on a regular basis.  Financial penalties apply to Starling Energy for poor performance. 

The main thing we will be doing is monitoring and benchmarking the performance of your system and providing you with information to keey it running and connected.  Not unlike most computers, 90% of things can be fixed with a reboot.  If there is a problem that can’t be fixed remotely, our team will manage the process and any warranty claims.  The system we have chosen allows us to rapidly change in inverter or battery – so we can have you up and running quickly.  

Our Perth and Dunsborough operations centres and teams are here to help you – for the next 25 years, should you choose.  That sounds like a long time to us too, but the business model has been built to last. 

Note – the Service and Maintenance doesn’t include the small things that our members can do such as reboots and cleaning of panels.  Our benchmarking data will inform us if your system is experiencing problems and we can notify you.   We may at some stage, if required and requested by our members, look to group buy some cleaning services if households need support. 

Essentially, the Starling Energy Group is the lead supplier to the Plico Energy Project and will:

  1. Act as the lead Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor and be responsible for procurement, installation and warranties.
  2. Act as the lead Operations and Maintnence (O&M) contractor to manage the fleet of systems from its ops centre, manage all warranties repairs, refurbishments, billing, claims and customer service.
