Future Focused | Spotlight on Plico Member David

Amidst rising cost of living pressures, Plico member David secured a cost-effective and reliable solution for his energy needs; a solar battery.

David invested in a Plico solar battery primarily to reduce his electricity bills. He was already seeing savings with solar panels on the roof however, he was determined to save even more and ease pressure on the budget for his growing family by adding a solar battery. He’s focused on saving money today and setting his young family up for the future.

“It's just another way to reduce living costs. At the end of day, you have to have electricity. So you either pay the high price or be smart about it."

He and partner Sheree made the decision after receiving a friendly knock on the door from a Plico professional at their Forrestdale home in WA. Having conducted some research on Plico and solar batteries on the market, they decided that there was no time like the present to start saving. And so far, their solar battery has been a “massive help” with cost-of-living pressure.

"Effectively, I have not paid a bill in the last 12 months. On average, when I just had solar, my bills were around $350 to $400. Now that’s down and I see anywhere around $70, $80 at most. And that's usually covered by the credit that I've generated in the months prior.”

Retrofitting a solar battery to his existing solar panel system has allowed David to store his generated solar energy to use when there is cloud cover, overnight and even during blackouts. He closely monitors the system and his electricity bills to ensure he gets the most value out of his investment.

David was attracted to Plico because of its quality products and flexible payment options. As he reaches his one-year anniversary with Plico, he reflects on the level of service he’s been provided as a Plico member.

“So far, any troubles that I have had, which is very rare, they've reached out to me directly and it was resolved on the spot. Because I'm in sales, the biggest thing for me is response and how quickly you act on something. With Plico, there is always someone there to support you.”

David is a proud member of the Plico community and a proud owner of a complete clean energy system. For anyone who’s been to David’s Forrestdale house – there’s a good chance he’s shown you his Plico solar battery!
