Building resilient and sustainable communities is at the heart of Plico and our membership association, DCEP Inc. At the AGM in November, DCEP launched the 2021-2022 Annual Report that highlights their efforts towards this purpose and the performance of the ever-expanding Plico fleet.
All Plico members are members of DCEP under Plico’s unique membership model. The DCEP Committee is a group of Plico members responsible for making decisions about where Plico membership fees are invested.
“While all of us, as Plico members, are contributing personally towards the renewable energy agenda, we are also contributing to broader community sustainability objectives and supporting our membership by virtue of the Plico membership fee and your DCEP Inc. Committee.” Neil Shipley, Chair of DCEP.
In 2021-2022, DCEP contributed to a school nature space project and supported a member in hardship. Awareness of DCEP’s community funding continues to grow with many more community initiatives funded in early 2022-2023.
The Plico fleet of solar + battery systems more than doubled in the financial year. Our network produced 4,472 MWh and exported 1,920 MWh to the grid. Our aggregated battery storage capacity increased by 3.2 MWh to an incredible 5.6 MWh.
We are building a community of change-makers who are working towards a better future - and we are making a difference.
“Plico was established to empower the community to take action on climate change. Although we are a young community, I am confident about our position and the positive impact we will have in the future.” Brian Innes, Founder of DCEP and Plico.
