The amount you can claim is determined by factors including the usable capacity of your solar battery.

The Plico Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is officially eligible for the NSW VPP Cash rebate under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS). Our low-touch, no-fuss VPP is community-focussed and rewards you for your energy.

If you have a solar battery, live in NSW and haven't already claimed the VPP Cash Rebate or are part of another VPP, you could be eligible for a rebate of up to $1,015*.

You'll need to have your Alpha ESS or Redback Technologies battery onboarded to the Plico VPP from 1 July 2026, sign a Plico VPP Service Agreement and switch to an eligible electricity plan like the Alinta Energy Sunshare Plan.

Once your system has been onboarded, you can apply for your VPP Cash Rebate through the MAC Services website.

If you are a Plico Member and have signed a VPP Service Agreement with us, you may be able to claim your NSW VPP Cash Rebate when your switch to an eligible electricity plan, like the Alinta Energy Sunshare Plan.

Depending on the usable capacity of your battery, you could be eligible for a rebate of up to $1,015*.

Once you switch electricity plans, you'll be officially onboarded to the Plico VPP — unlocking VPP Rewards and the NSW VPP Cash Rebate if you are eligible.

Once your system has been onboarded, you can apply for your VPP Cash Rebate through the MAC Services website. We're supporting all our NSW members to make the most of this incentive and get more value from their Plico battery system.
